ABCD is a joint effort between the Centre for Social and Behavior Change and Dalberg Development Advisors Private Limited.
Jocelyn Joseph
Senior Associate CSBC
Jocelyn is a behavioral design researcher and a senior associate at the Centre for Social and Behavior Change at Ashoka University. She works under the Research Vertical in the Behavioral Design and Impact Lab to conduct qualitative research and design effective behavioral solutions.Her work has focused on caste, financial inclusion, health, gender, nutrition, and water policies. She holds a bachelor's degree from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and a master's in Gender Studies from Ambedkar University, Delhi.
Kabir Sethi
Associate Partner, Dalberg
Kabir is an Associate Partner at Dalberg Mumbai, advising governments, foundations, and corporations on strategy, technology, and organizational design. He focuses on defining vision and taking tangible steps towards achieving it in ICT, Big Data, Education to Employment, and Financial Inclusion. Prior to Dalberg, Kabir was an AVP at the Lodha Group, and a Project Leader at Boston Consulting Group. Kabir has a Master’s in International Economics and Development from Johns Hopkins SAIS and a BA in Economics and Political Science from Macalester College.
Nirat Bhatnagar
Partner, Dalberg
Nirat is a Partner at Dalberg Advisors where he focuses on strategic questions in water, sanitation and agriculture. He is also a Founder of Belongg and has deep experience in social innovation, entrepreneurship, and strategy. He studied at IIT Kharagpur & IIM Bangalore and spent several years in management consulting and technology entrepreneurship before following his heart into the world of social innovation.
Pavan Mamidi
Director of the CSBC
Pavan is a policy advisor and social scientist who relies on empirical evidence. He focuses on two areas of work - law/policy and applied behavior science. Presently, he heads the Centre for Social and Behavior Change at Ashoka University and collaborates closely with Niti Aayog. Pavan established the Behavioral Insights Unit of India, the country's inaugural Nudge Unit, and also helped create similar units for Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. His research mainly concentrates on development issues encompassing education, health, nutrition, and gender. He has earned a PhD from the University of Oxford and an LL.M. from Harvard Law School.
Sharon Barnhardt
Director - Research at the CSBC
Sharon Barnhardt, Research Director at Ashoka University, leads teams that diagnose behavioral issues using qualitative research and measure intervention impacts with quantitative methods. She focuses on malnutrition, poverty, and sanitation, supported by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and International Food Policy Research Institute. She taught Behavioral Economics at LBSNAA and was faculty at IIM Ahmedabad. She affiliates with J-PAL at MIT and has a PhD in Public Policy from Harvard's Kennedy School, along with an MPA from Princeton and a BS from NYU.
Shivangi Adani
Innovation Associate Consultant, Dalberg
Shivangi Adani is an Innovation Associate at Dalberg Advisors, Asia, building platform-based solutions for sustainability challenges. She previously worked as an environment lawyer with Vanashakti Public Trust and Wildlife Conservation Trust, focusing on forests, river pollution, rights-based issues, and human-wildlife conflict management. Shivangi holds a Law degree from Government Law College, Mumbai, and certificates in Public Policy from Takshashila Institution and Design Thinking and Innovation from Harvard Business School, Online.
Tishara Rajagopal
Behavior Research Associate, Dalberg
Tishara is a Behavioral Research Associate in Dalberg’s Mumbai office. She pursued an MSc in Behavior Change from University College London and a B.A. (Hons) Psychology from Ashoka University. Tishara has a background in behavioral science with a focus on developing solutions for global environmental, social, and development challenges through an understanding of human behavior and decision-making.
